Discover the perfect golfing holiday destination in Tasmania!

Sweeping coastal links adjoining wild surf beaches - the emerald fairways and smooth greens of championship 18-hole courses - stunning clifftop holes with extensive ocean views - these are but a few of the experiences awaiting devoted golfers from around the world who choose Tasmania as their next golfing destination. Tasmania is the perfect destination for a golfing holiday - variety, scenery and appeal flourish in vast quantities across the island's 80 odd golf courses. Most golf courses in Tasmania are run by clubs, but wherever you play, you will be guaranteed to find a warm Tasmanian welcome for members of interstate and overseas golf clubs.

Highly rated 18-hole courses include the championship courses of Royal Hobart, Tasmania Golf Club, Kingston Beach and Claremont in the south of the island, Launceston Golf Club - Tasmania's oldest 18 hole course in the north, and Devonport and Ulverstone along the north-west coast. Ulverstone, in fact, is regularly included in Australia's top 100 courses. Last but not least is the magnificant Barnbougle Dunes. Located on Tasmania's northern coast, Barnbougle Dunes is a true seaside links course in the same mould as the famous authentic links course of the United Kingdom.

If you are wanting a unique golfing experience, Tasmania never fails to deliver. Tee-off on the challenging third hole at the Tasmania Club in Hobart, a hole modelled on the famous 18th at Pebble Beach. For pure spectacle, Port Arthur's Tasman Golf Club's amazing par 3 eight hole has to be played to be believed. Teeing off, your shot has to reach a pocket-sized green on the far side of a deep gorge, where dramatic sea cliffs plummet down to the heaving ocean swells. A visit to Australia's oldest golf course at Bothwell is one for the history enthusiasts. Still in use today, the Bothwell Golf Club, on the edge of Tasmania's famous trout fishing region, is home to the Australasian Golf Museum. The museum has on display the largest collection of historic and modern-day golfing memorabilia outside of St Andrew's, Scotland.
