The Group Travel Company respects your privacy and we will do our utmost to ensure the privacy and security of the information you supply to us. The Group Travel Company protects the privacy of your personal information under the Privacy Act 1988 (as amended by the Privacy Amendment (Private Sector) Act 2000.) This applies to information supplied to us in the following situations:

• Requesting an itinerary, flyer or brochure
• Making a booking
• In a tour registration form
• Subscribing to our newsletter

How is your personal information used?
We will only gather personal information that is necessary for the operation of our business in order to deliver the best possible product and service to you. The types of personal information that we collect from you will depend on the circumstances of collection, and on the type of service you request from us. These purposes include registering to receive e-mail newsletters, requesting further information about our tours, making a booking or simply asking a question about the the Group Travel Company's products. When you request us to make your travel arrangements, we may collect details such as your name, address, flight and other travel details, credit/debit card number and expiry date, billing address, telephone numbers, dietary requirements (if any) and medical conditions relevant to your travel arrangements. As we are required by law to obtain your consent to the collection of 'sensitive information' we will assume that you have consented to the collection of all information that is provided to us for use in accordance with this Policy, unless you tell us otherwise. There may be occasions when we collect information about you from a third party, for example from people booking travel on your behalf. Alternatively we may pass relevant information on to the travel agent who is handling your booking.
Choice to opt out
If you have registered to receive communications from us and later change your mind, you may contact us to have your name removed from our distribution lists. Who views your information?
The Group Travel Company may disclose personal information to other members within the company where necessary to conduct our business. We may also disclose your personal information to third parties (contractors to whom we contract out certain services) for the purpose for which the information was collected.
For example, we currently engage third party contractors to:
• Provide transport, including flights and ship sailings
• Organise and operate tours and attractions
• Provide software and hardware application hosting services
In these situations we prohibit the third party contractor from using personal information about you except for the specific purpose for which we supply it.
Other than the above we will not disclose your personal information without your consent unless disclosure is either necessary to prevent a threat to life or health, authorised or required by law, reasonably necessary to enforce the law or necessary to investigate a suspected unlawful activity.
Anonymous Information collected
In order to ensure our websites are relevant and appropriate to the majority of users, anonymous clickstream information is collected from every visitor to our website. This includes pages viewed, date and time and browser type. IP numbers are used to determine domain type and in some cases, geographic region. We do not make any association between this information and a visitor’s identity.
Direct Marketing
We conduct all direct marketing efforts to provide the best service and product to you. We may at times send you information and offers that we feel may be of interest to you. If you no longer wish to receive any direct marketing material please contact marketing@grouptravelcompany.com.au at any time.
We comply with the Spam Act 2003, and do not share, sell or rent information to any third parties. If you receive information from The Group Travel Company it is because you have asked to hear from us, you have entered a competition and agreed to join our mail list, or a friend / colleague has requested it on your behalf and you have confirmed this to us or we have contacted you through publicly accessible directories or databases.
Contests
When you enter a contest or other promotional feature on the Site, we may ask for your Personal Information so that we can administer the contest and notify winners. Participation in these contests is completely voluntary and you therefore have a choice whether or not to disclose the required information.
Online Surveys
We value opinions and comments from Group Travel Company customers, and you may have the opportunity to give us your feedback through Site surveys. In conducting these surveys, we may ask for your Personal Information so that we can appropriately identify you. Survey and Personal Information collected will be aggregated and used to make improvements to the Site and improve the Group Travel Company products and services. All staff members of the Group Travel Company endeavour to take every reasonable measure to ensure that your personal information is protected.
